Experience

Andrea Mackaronis joined the firm as an associate in the Environmental Department in 2007, and transitioned over to the Family Law Department shortly thereafter. Andrea has devoted her practice exclusively to Family Law and related issues of divorce, including child custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, prenuptial agreements, and post-judgment issues. She also handles non-dissolution matters. Andrea is designated as an AV Preeminent ® attorney by Martindale Hubbell ® Peer Review Ratings. This designation is awarded only to attorneys who demonstrate the highest level of professional excellence in general ethical standards and legal ability by their peers in their field of practice.

Andrea practices numerous forms of alternative dispute resolution, and has mediated small claims matters in the Special Civil Part. In addition, she has experience practicing Collaborative Law and is trained in Family Law Mediation.

She has successfully represented clients in motions, hearings, and mediations awarding custody of minor children, alimony, child support, and name changes for minor children. She has been appointed Guardian ad litem by Family Court judges and been appointed to serve as a Trustee, and also serves as an Early Settlement Panelist in Middlesex County. Andrea has also successfully represented international clients in their New Jersey divorce litigation.

At the firm, Andrea acts as a supervisor and mentor to summer associates, coordinates the firm associate/partner mentoring program, and sits on the Steering Committee.

Andrea graduated from Tufts University with a B.A. in English and later graduated from Syracuse University College of Law. Prior to joining Hoagland Longo Andrea clerked for the Honorable Michael A. Toto, Superior Court Judge from 2006-2007 while he was sitting in the Chancery Division, Family Part.

Andrea currently resides in North Brunswick where she has served on the Heritage Day Committee. She has been an active member of the Tufts Alumni Association, having conducted interviews for interested students. She was appointed by the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders to the Middlesex County Commission on the Status of Women. Finally, Andrea volunteers her time with the Central Jersey Spinal Cord Association.
